The Zero Harm Officer - is responsible for embedding the new Zero Harm framework for project works across multiple sites in the Canberra Region and South Coast.

Your new role

  • Undertaking audits, site observations and other assurance activities at all sites on a weekly basis that demonstrate Zero Harm due diligence and compliance with legislated obligations in project works activities.

  • Coach, guide and mentor Service Delivery Partners (SDPs) and Projects/Operations Teams to ensure a strong, consistent and positive safety culture

  • Engage in, and contribute to, Pre-Start Meetings, Toolbox Talks, Risk Assessment Workshops, Inductions and Safety Stand-downs at all sites every week.

  • Coordinate and deliver high quality weekly and monthly reports, briefs and correspondence for consideration by senior management.

  • Lead and support incident investigations for Project Works activities in conjunction with the Zero Harm Team, EMOS Operations Teams and Service Line/Functional Support Teams

  • Support the Zero Harm Team in development and implementation of the organisation's Annual Zero Harm Assurance Plan with input from senior stakeholders, and report on compliance to the plan, including evidence management.

  • Support the Business in achievement of annual Zero Harm KPIs set.

  • Support successful execution of the Corporate Zero Harm Strategy within the sites and ensure Zero Harm outcomes are achieved in a timely manner.

  • Encourage and drive line management willingness to comply with corporate Zero Harm guidelines and policies.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Strong systems knowledge including ISO and AS/NZ standards to support safety

  • standards and audits and to ensure that federal requirements and accreditations are

  • achieved

  • Strong knowledge of safety and environmental legislation, codes of practice and

  • industry best practice in QLD

  • Must be proficient in the Microsoft suite of programs e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • A high level of organisational ability and attention to detail.

  • A 'trust but verify' mentality, preferring boots-on-ground methods to confirm safety

  • performance in the field and provide a visible ZH leadership presence

  • Good work ethic, honest, reliable and the ability to work autonomously.

  • Ability to work with discretion and utmost professionalism as regards all issues of a

  • sensitive or confidential nature.
