Seeking an experienced Workplace Health and Safety Officer for a short-term contract in Nedlands
Your new company
Hays Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Workplace Health and Safety Officer for a short-term contract in Nedlands. This requirement has become available due to a staff member taking sudden leave, and initially will be required for a 1-month duration. Our client is seeking someone to start immediately after an interview.
Your new role
As the Workplace Health and Safety Officer you will be responsible for:
- Supporting in developing and implementing injury prevention strategies and programs
- Providing advice to stakeholders around WHS matters and legislative obligations
- Undertaking audits and investigations around risks and hazards on site
- Support in facilitating workplace assessments
- Maintaining the database with WHS information and reports
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience in a Workplace Health and Safety position
- An understanding of the WHS Act 2020 and WHS systems
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Experience on workers compensation and injury management (desirable)
- Previous government experience (desirable)
