Seeking an experienced Workplace Health and Safety Officer to join a state government department in Perth

Your new company

A major State Government health department based in Perth CBD, are seeking an experienced Work Health & Safety Officer to join a busy team. You will be required to work full-time hours, with flexible working arrangements on offer. This will be an initial temporary engagement, with a view of further extension for the right person.

Your new role

As the WHS Officer you will be responsible for multiple duties, including



  • Managing non-complex Workers' Compensation claims and Return to Work Programs

  • Supporting the HR team in the management of Fitness for Work cases

  • Conducting simple hazard and incident investigations

  • Coordinate the workstation assessment process

  • Responsible for coordinating the recruitment of the WHS volunteer roles

  • Coordination and promotion of well-being activities across the department

  • General administration support to the WHS committee


What you'll need to succeed

In order to be considered for this role, you will display the following;



  • Demonstrated experience in managing worker's compensation claims and Fitness for Work cases

  • Practical understanding and knowledge of the OSH and Workers Compensation and Injury Management legislation

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong organisation skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
