Seeking an experienced Workplace Health and Safety Officer to join a state government department in Perth
Your new company
A major State Government health department based in Perth CBD, are seeking an experienced Work Health & Safety Officer to join a busy team. You will be required to work full-time hours, with flexible working arrangements on offer. This will be an initial temporary engagement, with a view of further extension for the right person.
Your new role
As the WHS Officer you will be responsible for multiple duties, including
- Managing non-complex Workers' Compensation claims and Return to Work Programs
- Supporting the HR team in the management of Fitness for Work cases
- Conducting simple hazard and incident investigations
- Coordinate the workstation assessment process
- Responsible for coordinating the recruitment of the WHS volunteer roles
- Coordination and promotion of well-being activities across the department
- General administration support to the WHS committee
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be considered for this role, you will display the following;
- Demonstrated experience in managing worker's compensation claims and Fitness for Work cases
- Practical understanding and knowledge of the OSH and Workers Compensation and Injury Management legislation
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organisation skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
