Your new company
An Australian Manufacturing company are currently looking for a Senior WHSE Advisor to join their team on a permanent basis and will manage 1 WHS Advisor.

Your new role

  • Actively aim to reduce WHSE risk and the prevention of incidents and accidents in the organisation

  • Conduct WHSE related Internal Audits, Inspections, and Risk Assessments as required.

  • Take relevant action on risks, hazards, incidents, and non-conformance, this includes containment, investigation, analysis, corrective action, mitigation, communication, alerts, lessons learned and reporting.

  • Facilitate worker's compensation and return to work activities

  • Ensure the organisation continues to meet its' compliance and statutory obligations in relation to all WHS&E matters

  • Mentor, train and develop employees on all WHSE requirements

  • Oversee the recording, administration and follow up of incidents, injury management, worker's compensation and return to work matters including strategies for cost reduction through case management, training, reporting and systems

  • Active management of employee safety and wellness initiatives, including annual flu shots, fire drills, emergency response plans, COVID-19 site and precaution management, including any future pandemic management

  • Management of annual WHS related training including but not limited to first aid, CPR, fire warden and working at heights

What you'll need to succeed

  • You will have extensive experience in a similar safety role within a defence, manufacturing or similar high-risk environment.

  • A Cert IV in WHS as a minimum

  • Return to Work qualification and experience

  • Knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety and Environmental Regulations, Codes of Practice and Standards.

  • Strong skills in hazard identification, risk management and incident investigation.

  • Proven experience in risk assessments, safety audits, safety investigations.

  • Experience in ICAM investigations and Training & Assessment is highly desirable.
