Earthmoving company is looking for an OHS Manager to work on a project on Mt Beauty. This project is the Bogong landslide and is estimated to be completed by May 2024
This role is paying $190,000 + super, accommodation and meals provided.
The role can be 10, 4 or 5,2. Happy to negotiate for the right candidate
Responsibilities and Duties
- Determine safety related risks.
- Assess ongoing work conditions to ensure safety compliance.
- Work with project management teams and field workers to develop and implement solutions to safety related issues on project sites.
- Maintaining safety related paperwork
- Training company employees on safe work practices.
- Disciplining employees and subcontractors who fail to comply with minimum safety standards.
- Review and authorisation of amendments to the Safety Management Plan.
- Responsible for ensuring implementation of the required Workplace Safety and Management plans and subplans including but not limited to Heavy Vehicle Safety requirements. Undertaking Site/Project Pre-start Hazard Analysis and implementing required Risk Controls.
- Induction of all site personnel and subcontractors.
- Workplace Safety Inspections including monitoring of effectiveness of risk control measures.
- Ongoing maintenance, improvement, and implementation of the Safety Management Plan.
- Safety Toolbox Meetings.
- Authorising all Safe Work Method Statements for use.
- Undertake prestart hazard analysis and select controls to be implemented.
- Ongoing maintenance, improvement, and implementation of the Safety Management Plan.
- Fulfilment of all other reasonable requests or directions issued by Managers or other team members
Qualifications and Requirements
- Cert IV OH&S Management or Diploma in OH&S/WHS
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of Workplace Health and Safety and injury management legislation.
- 5+ years minimum full-time experience in a similar role
- Experience in ground penetration permits
