Botanical Resources Australia Pty Ltd (BRA) is the global leader in the production and supply of natural pyrethrum, operating in Tasmania for over 25 years. Part of the Sumitomo Chemical Group based in Japan, BRA is renowned for its success, innovation, positive work culture and an environmentally conscious approach to both agribusiness and manufacturing. BRA is seeking an experienced individual to join its Ulverstone based team as its new Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Manager.
Your new role
Reporting to the General Manager of Manufacturing and Agriculture, you will be responsible for further developing the company's Workplace Safety and Environment management focusing on associated training, compliance and fostering a culture of safety within the workplace. You will work collaboratively with the Quality Management team in leading continuous improvement across the business, identifying risks and implementing improvement strategies while ensuring high levels of compliance with Workplace Safety and Environment regulations.
In addition, you will provide strong leadership to the diverse range of organisational business units. Your passion for safety and environmental management will be evident in your ability to guide, coach and mentor staff, fostering a culture of safety consciousness and environmental awareness. The role will require liaising with relevant internal and external stakeholders to ensure HSE performance supports organisational goals.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a dedicated safety and environment professional, holding relevant qualifications and with strong experience in a similar HSE, WHS or Quality Management role, ideally within the manufacturing or agricultural sectors. You will have excellent interpersonal skills with the tenacity to build strong workplace relationships and the ability to act as a change agent in influencing staff across all departments. With exceptional communication and negotiation skills, you will have strong commercial acumen and demonstrate flexibility and resilience in your approach to safety. Experience working within ISO or GMP quality system environments would be highly regarded.
