Recruiting an experienced Health, Safety and Wellbeing Partner with strong stakeholder engagement skills

You will be joining a Queensland Government organisation, who is responsible for delivering safe and cost effective solutions for the people of QLD.

Your new role

As the Regional HSW Partner, you will partner with key stakeholders across the business to ensure the implementation of initiatives that support the organisation's Health, Safety, and Wellness strategy and drive business improvements.

Position Duties:

  • Partner with leaders and employees to provide support and advice in accordance with policies and procedures, legislation, regulations and codes of practice as appropriate.

  • Lead incident investigations, hazard identification and audit and inspection activities to ensure improved business outcomes and mitigation of risk.

  • Perform assurance and provide advice on management of major operational / principal contractors as assigned.

  • Facilitate the review and development of procedures and work instruction that form part of the Management System.

  • Work with the HSW team and leaders to ensure relevant safety related competencies are achieved and maintained.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Diploma of Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent relevant experience

  • Formal training in Incident Investigation (e.g. ICAM or TapRoot) and Lead Auditor in Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.

  • Unrestricted driver's licence.

  • Demonstrated experience in working with contractors.

  • Demonstrated experience in conducting incident investigations, risk assessments and safety audits within a utilities or heavy industry environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply legislation, regulations, codes of practice through an SMS.

  • Demonstrated experience working in collaboration with key stakeholders at all levels

  • Ability to implement and monitor WHS programs, projects, initiatives, processes and procedures.

  • A suitable combination of comprehensive experience and/or education/training in the WH&S area.
