This company are currently looking for a Fire Compliance Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.

Your new role
The role of the Fire Compliance Manager is to develop, lead, manage and promote fire compliance safety across the business. This role holds accountability for all elements of fire compliance and is critical to ensuring fire compliance requirements across the business units.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of the organisational fire safety strategy

  • Lead the implementation of routine site inspections, Compliance Reports and Certifications

  • Oversee Regulatory and legislative compliance including National Building Code Compliance Work closely with the Construction and Facilities Management Project Managers and supervisors to effectively maintain Fire Compliance with temporary works

  • Contribute to fire compliance requirements in infrastructure design

  • Provide Subject Matter Expertise in the development of the handover process from construction/maintenance works in conjunction with the Project Delivery Management System

  • Support the Facilities Management team with fire protection/detection systems, evacuation strategy, diagrams and assembly areas, hot work permits and isolations

  • Ensure fire risk assessment and business continuity process are in place and up to date

  • Oversee tenant annual fire safety statements, maintenance of fire protection systems within leased facilities and tenancy audits

  • Support stakeholders with emergency management planning, preparedness, stakeholder management, response processes and training including exercises and drills

  • Support the organizational Safety Management System, WHS compliance advice and audits of systems and processes

What you'll need to succeed

  • Fire Engineering degree or related tertiary education

  • Large Facilities Management experience (Retail/Public/Airports)

  • Familiar with FPA and Australian Standards relating to Essential Service Systems

  • Competent Fire Safety Practitioner (CFSP) accreditation preferred

  • Detailed knowledge of construction techniques, Contract management fundamentals, building approval processes, Building Code of Australia practice and principles, WH&S and QA practice and principles

  • Broad knowledge of project coordination and supervision, interfaces and dependencies

  • Strong understanding of safety and quality management systems

  • Highly developed skills to interpret and apply standards and practices prescribed in regulatory documentation
