In this role you will be responsible for the overall EH&S (environment, health & safety) performance (including injury management) of the State and effective implementation of Corporate EH&S Management System and other requirements. The key responsibilities include: - Provide support and assistance to the business unit leaders on EH&S matters;
- Ensure EH&S hazards are identified and risk assessments are conducted to eliminate/reduce EH&S risks and enhance performance;
- Conduct of regular EH&S audits and inspections and effective management of action plans;
- Conduct of incident investigations to ensure corrective actions and preventive measures are developed and implemented in a timely manner;
- Ensure effective implementation of injury management processes;
- Provide coaching and training to business units;
- Liaison with the regulatory bodies and consultants as required;
- Analysis and reporting of audits data.
Experience and Qualifications - Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline
- At least 2 years experience in a similar role
- Good understanding of the State OH&S and workers compensation legislations.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting OH&S risk assessments and audits.
- Proven ability to arrange and coordinate return to work and rehabilitation programs.
- Proven ability to assist with the development and implementation of safety and injury management procedures and programs.
- Proven ability to build effective workplace relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and manage personal work priorities.
