About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join one of Australia’s leading media businesses. Reporting directly to the Head of People and Culture, this is a key role working directly with the organisation to continually improve and support safety performance, ensure the successful continuation of the injury management program and implement wellbeing programs.

About Success

To be a success, you will be a collaborative people leader who contributes to building a proactive safety culture.
Success will be in effectively managing the safety training needs analysis, developing training and education plans and actively preparing all safety related reporting requirements through to board level. You will also have responsibility for Risk Management and assessments, incident analysis, corrective action management together with developing, managing and maintaining current wellbeing programs.
You will lead the injury management and return to work function and provide high level advice with a consultative approach to all staff members, including the senior leadership team.

About You
  
With extensive experience as a strong people leader in a senior WHS role, ideally within both blue and white-collar environments or similar, you will bring:
  • Excellent stakeholder management, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and make a positive impact at all levels.
  • Effective change management skills and ability to navigate and add value in a complex and diverse organisation.
  • Degree or Diploma in Safety or similar, and a Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment.

About Success
Successful candidates will have the following experience:
  • Qualifications in Workplace Safety and/or Auditing Compliance systems or similar
  • Working knowledge of Workplace, Health & Safety policies and legislation.
  • Proven experience in Workers Compensation and Injury Management processes.
  • Experience in conducting operational risk assessments.
  • Knowledge of the media industry (desirable not essential)
  • Relevant experience in training and coaching at various levels of an organisation.
