Stellar Recruitment is currently assisting in the sourcing of an experienced HSEC Manager to join one of their sustainable open cut coal mines within the northern Bowen Basin. You will primarily be responsible for the development, implementation and management of the complete HSEC arena for the operation, in accordance with the site targets and company’s global direction.

Reporting directly to the GM, your key responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

• Coordination and management of the HSEC team (Currently 4 direct reports)
• Facilitating health and safety-oriented leadership performance
• Reporting on performance, achievements, compliance, incidents, budget, trends and issues
• Maintain, develop and implement safety and risk systems
• Actively contribute to management initiatives
• Overseeing existing and introduce new community engagement systems
• Facilitating and continual improvement of cultural heritage programs

To be considered for this position you will require:

• Tertiary qualifications within HSE, OH&S or similar discipline
• 3 + years experience within a senior role – Superintendent / Management level
• Extensive knowledge of relevant HSECT legislation for Queensland
• Strong organisational, budgeting and leadership skills
• A team focused, dedicated, adaptable and forward thinking approach
• Proven stakeholder liaison skills
