HSE Manager - System Development & Risk

A leader across the Commercial & Industrial Construction Industry, this diversified organisation prides itself with its extensive portfolio across Australia. The company has a Global footprint and is one of Australia’s leading organisations across Construction & Property.  Due to an increase in project workload and secure works ahead there is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic HSE Manager based in local Melbourne.

This role will assist in the continual improvement and implementation of HSE assurance programs the promote the HSE Strategy and monitor operational compliance. One of the primary aspects of this vacancy is to assess opportunities for business unit discussions around HSE issues affecting operations. You will assist each business unit in continually improving their HSE performance and culture through proactive engagement, coaching and guidance.

You will ensure compliance is maintained to legislative requirements across (AS/NZS 4801, ISO45001, ISO 14001 as well as OFSC requirements. Ensuring the HSE management system remains current and practical and facilitating the development of Critical Risk Control Standards are of high importance. As a leader and mentor you will assist in the delivery of training programs that increase HSE capability and create a solid understanding of safety requirements. Communication is key, you will be comfortable communicating with all stakeholders within all levels of the business. As this is a National Role monthly travel will be required within Queensland, Victoria & NSW monthly.

To be considered for this role you will have a thorough knowledge of HSE & OFSC legislation and requirements. You will have a proven background in risk management systems and assist in investigating high risk incidents and provide guidance and training around how to mitigate risk.

Qualifications & Attributes

  • WHS diploma OR qualification or equivalent
  • Diploma in Environmental Management or similar
  • Cert IV in Training & Assessment
  • Lead Auditor
  • ICAM Investigation or Taproot
  • Proven background in HSE & Risk Management Systems
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience across health safety & environment leadership roles within Construction ideally.
  • A practical and modern approach to safety implementation and knowledge of current legislation.
  • Ability to implement a safety culture through coaching and initiating leadership.
