We have had the privilege of watching this company mature into one of the most highly sort after employers in Australia, and now, with the establishment of one of the largest capital infrastructure projects Queensland has ever seen, it is your opportunity to get involved.

This Iconic Oil & Gas operator is in the process of constructing their $18B CSG to LNG project to support the ongoing development of the business, a site based construction team has been assembled in Chinchilla, Queensland. An opportunity exists for Health & Safety Advisors to play a key role in the implementation of the safety management system and safety management plan, while working with a team of Health and Safety Advisors across site construction activities.

Under the leadership of the Project Manager, your core accountabilities will include:

  • Ensure all site personnel within the team are informed of any changes to the HSSE legislative framework, client policies, procedures and standards that will have a direct or indirect impact on the client’s upstream activities
  • Promote a culture of awareness to contractors and staff across health and safety
  • Implement, monitor and review the SMS within the construction site activities while providing input into the SMP
  • Develop compliance inspection schedules to ensure compliance with the safety management system
  • Prepare weekly, monthly and annual reports on health and safety performance
  • Develop, implement and maintain the processes, procedures, reporting and monitoring practices to ensure they are in line with company objectives
  • Ensure contractor compliance with the safety management system and regulatory requirements
    Facilitate the training of contractors on health and safety requirements for construction sites

The minimum requirements to be considered for this exceptional opportunity are as follows:

  • Previous experience in internal auditing and incident investigation systems
  • Proven experience acting in a dedicated safety role within oil & gas, mining or heavy industrial construction
  • Member of relevant professional associations eg, (SIA) or (NSCA)
  • Cert IV in Training and Assessment and sound knowledge of occupational health and safety legislative requirements
  • Plant operator or other technically based certification or qualification eg trade, forklift, rigging, scaffolding, working at heights, confined space
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability effectively influence staff, contractors and management at all levels
  • Strong report writing skills and the ability to solve complex and abstract problems

Thorough understanding and the ability to advise on a range of specialist areas and activities during Construction/Commissioning, including but not limited to; safe systems of work/permit to work, confined space entry, working at height, lifting operations, excavation & trenching, occupational health monitoring, security, electrical safety, driving hazards, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery, emergency response, isolation procedures etc
