About the role
Our client is a global manufacturing organisation with a strong presence across Australia. They are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager to implement and drive a robust H&S program that leads to the achievement of critical business objectives in the plant. They will support and collaborate with the National Safety & Compliance Manager and with the Operations Manager to achieve a zero harm culture.

Key Responsibilities
The role will require you to build and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a safety culture that cultivates and sustains best practice mindset. You will implement and drive health and safety programs and processes which will lead to improvement and conduct comprehensive audit and review of all site operations and processes to detect existing/potential H&S issues. While you are onsite, you will need to support and up skill managers and employees.
 
About Success
Successful candidates will have the following experience:
  • Relevant packaging industry/manufacturing and experience 
  • Degree or quivalent in OHS / Engineering / Science or similar discipline, or equivalent business systems experience 
  • Return to work coordination experience
  • Ability to handle multi-tasking in a fast paced environment
  • Background in training desired
  • Internal audit qualification
  • Demonstrated ability to in effectively drive change in the workplace 
  • Capability for gap analysis, planning and priority setting 
  • Ability to interface with all levels and disciplines within the Company
