About the role
Reporting to the Group Manager Safety, Health & Environment (SHE), this position works closely with the SHE leadership team, SHE Committee, HR partners, business unit SHE teams, injured workers and vendors to provide a critical support function that includes:

  • Being the first point of contact for all SHE-related matters for Sydney head office and the Grains business unit
  • Providing accurate and timely regular and ad-hoc information and reporting as well as collation, analysis and interpretation of such information as it relates to injury management, workers compensation other SHE functions
  • Project support / management for key SHE initiatives
  • Maintenance and support for Grains SHE/injury management data and systems and Group-level platforms such as Jumbanna, SharePoint, Injury Connect, etc.
  • Completion of various injury and case management activities as required and participation in the annual SHE audit schedule
  • Assistance with the coordination / implementation of defined SHE initiatives across GrainCorp business units, including development of related communications material
  • Overflow management of injury claims, working closely with the Group Injury Management Specialist.
The broad dimensions of this role will see you gain and develop deep experience at a BU and Group level and represents an opportunity to gain a broad base of experience in SHE and injury management.

About your experience
The preferred candidate will have experience gained through work in a group or business unit level safety role (mid-large listed companies ideal but not essential). Additionally, some combination of knowledge and/or qualifications in SHE legislation and practices (including for example incident investigation methodology such as ICAM; Cert IV WHS) would be very advantageous.

It is essential that all candidates have the following:
  • Advanced computing skills in MS Excel
  • Proven analytical ability, high level of accuracy and ability to work under pressure
  • Sound numeracy, reporting writing, communication and presentation skills
  • Strong drive and initiative and ability to self-start and work without supervision
  • Ability to work well within a team, strong customer ethos and ability to manage upwards.
Some travel may be required in the role and your flexibility in this regard would be valued.
