About the role
My client is a well respected early education provider in Australia seeking an Employee Wellness and Safety Coordinator. Working with the Employee Wellness and Safety Team at their head office in the Sydney CBD, the purpose of this position is to contribute to the implementation of WHS, employee wellness and injury management improvement plans for the organisation's operational divisions in support of their health, safety and wellness policy.

More specifically, you will be responsible for the following:
  • Development and implementation of WHS strategies for their services, addressing WHS, injury management and employee wellness initiatives.
  • Development and implementation of manual handling transfer plans to assist staff members working with children with additional needs
  • Developing and delivering face-to-face and online training in WHS and workers compensation/injury management
  • Development and implementation of the employee wellness program.
  • Providing operational support to selected services in WHS and employee wellness matters.
About Success
Successful candidates will have the following experience:
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in implementation of WHS initiatives across a geographically and culturally diverse organisation
  • Development, implementation and training in safe work practices for the manual handling of people
  • Development, implementation and training in infection control practices
  • Development of WHS and workers compensation procedures
  • Collation and presentation of statistics to assist in organisation decision making
  • Tertiary qualifications in WHS, Ergonomics, Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy
  • TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • Current and valid Australian driver’s license
  • Willingness to travel throughout NSW and interstate including overnight stays as required.
The preferred candidate will be required to undertake a Working with Children check. Employment may also be subject to satisfactory completion of a medical examination.
